Qinghai will lay efforts on exploring and developing the resources of petroleum and natural gas in Chaidamu Basin to increase proved deposits, and combine petro-gas chemistry with salt lake chemistry. In 2005, the proved and controllable deposits are 400 million tons of petroleum and 3 billion cubic meters of gas. The gas pipelines from Sebei and Xining in Qinghai Province to Lanzhou in Gansu will be set up with the capacities of 5 million tons annually. And the projects by use of gas will be set up, too, such as power station, PVC and fertilizer.
